Chicago Chefs Raise money for the new Chicago Hospitality Accountable Actions Database

Chicago Hospitality Accountable Actions Database (CHAAD), was created to document the anti-racist and pandemic safety policies of our favorite hospitality establishments so we know where to work and support in alignment with our values. They are reimagining how we all engage with favorite bars and restaurants. Their work includes collecting public statements of solidarity from businesses and keeping track of their equitable practices like COVID-19 safety, hiring practices, and more. Their goal is to create an app to make all this information searchable so that you can find and support restaurants that stand in solidarity with Black lives and treat their staff fairly.

 

More than a dozen chefs have come together to raise funds for the new Chicago Hospitality Accountable Actions Database project; hailing from neighborhood favorites like Lula, Split Rail, and Passarotto.

The Chefs have donated goods such as rhubarb soybean hot sauce, biscuit take-n bakes, pre-bottled chai, and more. The goods will be available upon a donation to the CHAAD project’s GoFundMe campaign and available for pickup at Lost Lake on August 31st.
